Reminder: The feast of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary is Thursday, August 15. The feast is a holy day of obligation, a day ALL Catholics are supposed to attend Mass (like on a Sunday). All Masses will be in the main church.

We had some very special visitors this morning. Mr.Bill Barry & Mrs.Beth Barry came all the way from New Braunfels to visit Monsignor Gustavo Barrera! He married them on January 2, 1993. We hope to see you again soon and May God bless you both!
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School welcomes Mr. Israel “Buddy” Martinez as he becomes the new principal for the 2019-2020 academic year! Please pray for him and the whole school community as he follows his vocation to provide academic and spiritual leadership in a Catholic school setting. We encourage parents to show their support by re-enrolling their children and encouraging other families to enroll as well for the upcoming school year!
The Junior Catholic Daughters are here in the foyer area this weekend selling Easter Eggs! Please stop by after mass this weekend (April 6th & 7th) and support this fundraiser, they are $10 for 2 dozen uniquely decorated Easter Eggs and goes to benefit community service projects. The girls have been collecting egg shells for months. They have spent countless hours coloring, painting, decorating and stuffing egg shells all while smiling, laughing and sharing their love for Christ. They will be here after every mass this weekend and Thank you for your continued support of JCDA.

In his homily, we are reminded that repentance is a necessary element toward healing, and with an open heart and repentant spirit, we can offer up our own sins to our Lord and pursue true healing through Christ. The Mass of the Innocents was celebrated today by Bishop Mario A. Avilés at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen. It was very special as parents of unborn or stillborn children or other cases of lost children united at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to embrace their cross and find the grace needed to say, "The Lord is my Shepherd, there is nothing I shall want."

Our Lady of Sorrows Parish & School has grown over the years in many ways, both in the number of parishioners who attend and the way those parishioners are being served. Unfortunately sometimes they are not being served to the degree that an active parish should serve the faithful. The Capital Campaign will thelp provide funds for ✞ a dedicated Perpetual Adoration Chapel ✞ a parish hall with adjacent small meeting rooms / classrooms ✞ additional close-up parking. all of which will help our Church continue to grow.
